Welcome to "Taste for Healthy!"
My name is Ashley Craft... I am 27 years old, have a bachelor's degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in recreation management and am a recent graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition! I have a passion for all things nutrition, health, and wellness... and my mission is to inspire people to live healthier and happier lives.
My Story
A few years ago, I came to realize that if you are not healthy and happy... nothing else really matters. I struggled balancing a 24-unit course load and working 20+ hours a week at a stressful job.
As a result of this, plus the other aspects of student life, I was stressed out, unhappy, had daily migraines, a constant upset stomach, and became victim of the "freshman 15." Throughout all of this, I considered myself to be eating basically "healthy."
However, in 2007 I took a food science class. At the time, I thought it would be an easy class to fulfill an upper level general education requirement... but it completely changed my life!
A day has not passed where I haven't thought about what I learned in that class. I had no idea that "food science" and "nutrition" were completely different things! My, how my views and opinions have changed...
Anyways, after that eye opening class, taught by a former FDA food scientist, I began following a more wholesome diet, eating real food... and researching anything and everything food/nutrition-related.
Today, I eat an organic whole foods diet and exercise to feel amazing! My hope is that you will be inspired to make (or continue making) positive changes in your life as well!
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or just want to say "hi," I would love to hear from you! I love connecting with like-minded individuals! :)
