Peanut Butter and Jelly Oats... and Snow!

Good morning!

How is 2011 treating you so far? Have you made anything new and delicious?

I've recently discovered a new favorite breakfast: Peanut Butter and Jelly Oats!

Last week in Big Bear, I had an oatmeal craving... every morning. I wanted to ensure I had plenty of energy until lunch... so I would stir a spoonful of peanut butter into my oats. It was amazingly delicious... but I thought to myself... "How much more amazing would this breakfast be if I had brought jelly?!"

Naturally, I made it with jelly as soon as we got home. And every morning since... Peanut Butter and Jelly Oats is what I have been enjoying for breakfast!

I've definitely been waking up excited for breakfast on these cold January mornings. Oh, and bananas compliment this deliciousness perfectly!

By the way, this is what we woke up to this morning...

It hardly ever snows in Palmdale! But yesterday we got 4 inches! Yippee! :)

Are you currently having any exciting weather? Also, how do you "fancy up" your morning oatmeal?

  1. The exciting weather here really isn't that exciting. It's cold and we are having some major frost. Frost as in - so much that it looks like snow. We don't usually get it like that so it IS kind of weird.. and I guess, almost exciting. ;)

PB and jam oats? Sounds amazing!

  2. PB and J Oats!!!! Yum---sounds very comforting (kinda like the large coffee I just guzzled). Lately I've been eating cream of buckwheat instead of oats (I just posted about it the other day---it's so good and just a nice little switch-up from oats). I like to put pureed pumpkin (from the can) and pie spice in oats or buckwheat....or a half scoop of sun warrior protein and a scoop of sun butter (or peanut butter).

In upstate NY, we got a bunch of snow (and sledded and froze our buns off)...and then it all melted!

I love your blog, and look forward to reading more!

  5. Thank you for the additions to my 5 tips! I've never had dandelion tea. I hope it doesn't actually taste like dandelions though, from what I remember as a kid, they aren't very tasty... Haha Thanks for stopping by my blog and look forward to following yours!
